Be Sound

When it comes to mental health and wellbeing, one important thing to remember is to “be sound”. It is impossible to get things right all the time, or the first time we try something. We cannot be happy or joyful every single day, and there is every chance that things will change over time. When it comes to your own mental health and wellbeing – BE SOUND!

Mental health and wellbeing are made up of our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and mood. No two people will have the exact same thoughts, feelings, emotions, and moods as each other, even if they are in the same situation, but it is important to remember that one person isn’t better off than someone else. When it comes to the mental health and wellbeing of other people – BE SOUND!

All changes and differences have to be respected, both for ourselves and for others.

Why it is important to be sound

You never know what someone else is going through.

We are very good at presenting an image of ourselves to the outside world. This image doesn’t always match what is going on on the inside. This is true for everyone. We will all have our good days and we will all have our bad days, it’s important to remember that we cannot read other peoples minds, nor can they read ours.

When we are going through our own bad days, it is also important that we are kind to ourselves. Being sound to other people can sometimes be easier than being sound to ourself. We are the one and only person who is guaranteed to be with us for the rest of our lives, so we may as well be nice.

A final Thought

We never know what is going on behind closed doors. Everyone you meet on a given day may be going through something that you don’t know.

Being kind, showing compassion or being sound doesn’t cost anything.

Remember to always turn that kindness back in on yourself too. You deserve it as much as the next person.
